Interests

My interests lie in promoting science and conservation literacy to a wider audience. There is a large communication gap between the scientific world and the general public that must be bridged through translation of academic language and values into general parlance.

I am also attracted to the process of retracing the steps of historic collection expeditions to gain prospective on the future of our changing planet. Museum collections hold a vast wealth of information and I am interested in putting that data to use, coupled with newly collected data, to better understand changes through time in habitat and species distribution, isotopic changes, and genetic shifts, among other things.
