Research Interests

My professional interests include evolutionary biology, molecular and morphological evolution, genetics and ecology of speciation, functional morphology, behavioral ecology, biogeography, systematics, and host-parasite interactions including: (1) molecular phylogenomics and systematics (2) phylogeography and population genomics (3) ecological and behavioral mechanisms of speciation (4) evolution of avian communities (5) studies of rates of morphological evolution using molecular phylogenetic methods (6) Holarctic and Palearctic biogeography (7) ecology, life cycles, and habitat use of alpine, boreal, and arctic birds (8) foraging behavior, locomotion, and morphological adaptation (9) ecology of avian Haemosporidian parasites (10) conservation policies I am also interested in developing and using museum collections for comparative evolutionary, molecular, and morphological studies
